Reading about a 2022 vulnerability that AI just surfaced for Zcash. Zcash is a privacy premised chain that uses Zero Knowledge (ZK) proofs as a means of proving the validity of a transaction without revealing the sender or receiver address or transaction amount. The ZK layer answers whether a transaction is legitimate without disclosing who, to whom or how much but the chain still relies on encryption/security that is subject to Q-attack failure. Some in the crypto space have argued the need for greater privacy versus the openess of blockchain in general. Unfortunately Zcash has had two exploits over the past 6-7 years that would allow a nefarious actor to mint unlimited Zcash undetected, and because of the privacy feature there would be no way to determine how much counterfeit crypto currency was created and added to the pool.
Observations that come to mind, the need for Quantum Resistance security applies across all chains whether open or private in nature. Krown’s fixed 100B coin limit is structural to the chain —> written into the code thus no one can counterfeit additional KROWN as it would be immediately rejected by the code, much less fail via consensus validation. Just noting through comparison that Krown will prove superior for multiple reasons as the cryptosphere gains awareness of this new kid on the Bloq.
Very pleased to be a pioneer Bloqian.
