Certainly seems like a distrust, older generations (for example) often times do not like change (not trying to paint it with one brush, just a commonality that many are comfortable with the current routine of things). Add in the bad reputation that has come from meme coins and scammers, it creates a hostile environment that can be unattractive to many looking in.
